Default Yen and risk aversion

It appear that the yen is still rising steadily due to risk aversion. Does any else use the yen as a fallback?

By fallback I mean a currency to trade long on when everything else is being short sold

Got you now, yes I have in the past, but I find swapping currencies can get a bit confusing, and tend to avoid the practise.

The yen's pretty low at the moment, but the Nikkei is up - I'll never get my head completely around this stuff
