It’s time to count the gold at the world’s leading gold producing companies. The quarterly reporting is underway, reports which will give the world’s markets and traders an indication of the strength of the global industry. The results of the quarterly gold reports will have huge impacts on the price of gold at trading companies such as HY Markets.

By the end of the coming week gold companies including; Gold Fields, AngloGold Ashanti and junior Great Basin Gold will all announce their quarterly production figures. If these figures are better than expected the price of gold at HY Markets and other online trading companies will certainly rise.

There are also a host of other key global economic events happening around the world this week, not only for gold and commodities traders but also for Forex traders.

On Monday the US will release its ISM Manufacturing figures for April while the EU PMI figures for April are also due.

Tuesday sees the US release its factory orders for March while the EU releases its producer price inflation (PPI) numbers also for March.

On Wednesday the UK will hold its general election, which will have investors and traders at markets across the world keeping a keen eye on the results. Along with the 2010 UK General Election the Bank of England starts a two-day monetary policy committee meeting while the EU releases its retail sales for March and the European Central Bank starts two-day monetary policy committee meeting on Wednesday too.

Thursday will see the Bank of England release its interest rate decision along with their monetary policy statement. Thursday will also see US Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke speak in Chicago.

And then on Friday we close the week with those earlier mentioned gold figures, the UK’s PPI for April and the US’ unemployment rates for April.
