Forex Markets Are Still Open This Bank Holiday Monday
With the May Day Bank Holiday taking place in the UK on Monday you may be forgiven for thinking that the world’s Forex markets will grind to a halt, however the Forex markets are still open this bank holiday Monday. It’s not only the UK that has a public holiday on Monday either. Japan also has public holidays next week, but their public holiday lasts until Wednesday with the Japanese markets reopening on Thursday.
Even with the UK and Japan on holiday, the world’s Forex markets will still be making moves and there are some key events which will make an impact on the price of currency pairs at online Forex brokers such as 4XP.
On Monday the USD will be affected by the release of April’s total vehicle sales figures. The AUD will also see movement courtesy of May’s AIG Manufacturing Index, MI Inflation Gauge and HPI data releases.
On Tuesday Germany’s retail sales figures for April should raise the value of the struggling Euro as they’re expected to increase by 1.1%. The UK will release their Manufacturing PMI and Net Lending to Individuals figures, with manufacturing expecting to decline slightly while the lending figures are expected to increase as the UK’s economy slowly fights its way out of the clutches of recession.
On Wednesday the UK will announce their nationwide consumer confidence figures for April, which are believed to be in decline. This may well see the GBP suffer against many of its counterparts. European retail sales figures will be released on Wednesday too. These figures are expected to reflect the uncertainty surrounding Greece and their ability to repay their debts.
Thursday brings Australia’s retail sales figures for April, which are expected to show decline. This will have an effect on AUD pairs at 4XP and other leading online Forex brokers.
On Friday Switzerland and Canada will both release unemployment figures, which in turn will affect the value of both CHF and CAD currency pairs.
